The MI-FLEX Pot Hanging Cowl in a standard fit design adheres to the latest BSEN standard, ensuring superior functionality. Equipped with an integrated rain cap and bird guard, this cowl allows seamless installation of the chimney liner without necessitating pot removal. Effectively blocking bird entry, it provides augmented rain protection while supporting the liner’s weight at the chimney pot’s crest. The terminal securely attaches to the flex using the standard jubilee fixing method—refer to the installation instructions for detailed guidance.

As part of the MF20 MI-FLEX accessories series, these components are meticulously crafted for seamless integration with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. Their combination forms a comprehensive and efficient chimney system.

General Application:
These items are specially designed to be used in conjunction with MI-FLEX Multi-fuel flexible flue liners. Adherence to Building Regulations Document J mandates complete enclosure of flexible flue liners within a masonry chimney. Suitable for appliances operating up to 600 degrees (T600 designation) and compatible with Wood

Terminals:
Primarily utilized to prevent water ingress or Vermin/Birds entry into the flue, terminals play a crucial role. When fitting a flue liner to an appliance lacking a condense drain, a terminal must be fitted to prevent excess water from passing through the system and back to the appliance. Pot hanging cowls offer substantial support to manage the vertical weight of the flue liner atop the chimney pot. The chimney structure must be sound, and the chimney pots must be in good condition without any cracks. Appropriate flaunching at the stack’s top is essential.

Maintenance:
For sweeping and maintenance, ensure the chimney system is designed for easy access. Sweeping should be conducted by a competent person. For solid fuel applications, consult HETAS registered sweeps at www.hetas.co.uk. Avoid using chemical cleaners or mild steel tools for sweeping stainless steel chimneys. Regular cleaning and inspection, ideally at least annually, are recommended. Biannual sweeps for solid fuel appliances ensure the removal of accumulated deposits and check for blockages or deposits such as bird nets.
