The MI-FLEX Pot Hanging Cowl in Terracotta, a standard fit product, complies impeccably with the latest BSEN standard. This pot hanging cowl boasts an integrated rain cap and bird guard, facilitating chimney liner installation without pot removal. It effectively deters birds and provides enhanced rain protection. Positioned at the top of the chimney pot, it offers robust support for the liner, with the terminal secured to the flex using the standard jubilee fixing method (refer to installation instructions for detailed guidance).

Overview:
Part of the MF20 MI-FLEX accessories collection, these components are expertly tailored for seamless integration with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. Together, they create a complete, efficient chimney system.

General Application:
Designed for use alongside MI-FLEX Multi-fuel flexible flue liners, these items comply with Building Regulations Document J, mandating the complete enclosure of flexible flue liners within masonry chimneys. Suitable for appliances operating at temperatures up to 600 degrees (T600 designation), compatible with Wood

Terminals:
Primarily designed to prevent water, Vermin, or Birds from entering the flue, terminals play a pivotal role in ensuring proper functionality. When fitting a flue liner to an appliance without a condense drain, a terminal must be fitted to prevent excess water from passing through the system and back to the appliance. Pot hanging cowls provide substantial support for the flue liner’s vertical weight on the chimney pot. The chimney structure must be sound, with chimney pots in good condition and appropriate flaunching at the stack’s top.

Maintenance:
To facilitate sweeping and maintenance, the chimney system should be designed for easy access. Sweeping should be conducted by a competent person. For solid fuel applications, consult HETAS registered sweeps at www.hetas.co.uk. Avoid using chemical cleaners or mild steel tools for sweeping stainless steel chimneys. Regular cleaning and inspection, ideally at least annually, are recommended. Biannual sweeps for solid fuel appliances ensure the removal of accumulated deposits and check for blockages or deposits such as bird nets.
