Description
Top Hat Adaptor – 150mm: Seamless Integration for Chimney Systems
The Top Hat Adaptor in 0.6mm 316 stainless steel is ingeniously designed to be installed at the base of the chimney, specifically beneath the register plate. This adapter boasts a rebated connection on the underside of the plate, allowing the connecting flue to slide up to 100mm, facilitating easy integration or disconnection of the stove. Positioned above the plate, the adaptor to MI-FLEX serves as the transition point to the flexible flue liner, and it includes a built-in square cover plate to neatly conceal the hole created in the register plate.
Overview:
This MF20 MI-FLEX accessories range features heavy-duty fittings crafted from premium 0.6mm 316 stainless steel. Designed meticulously to seamlessly integrate with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners, ensuring the creation of a complete and efficient chimney system.
General Application:
These components are meticulously engineered to complement MI-FLEX Multi-fuel flexible flue liners. They adhere strictly to the guidelines outlined in Building Regulations Document J, mandating the complete enclosure of a flexible flue liner within a masonry chimney. Suitable for use on appliances operating at temperatures up to 600 degrees (T600 designation) and compatible with Wood.
Bottom Fixings:
Bottom fixings play a vital role in transitioning from the connecting flue system to the Flexible flue liner. The connection to the flex should be contained within the existing masonry chimney, ensuring no exposed flex at any point. Proper provisions must be made to secure the bottom fixing into the connecting flue below and the flexible above to create a gas-tight seal. Utilization of fire cement, ceramic rope or tape, or high-temperature sealant is advisable for a secure installation.
Specific Application:
The 316 stainless steel Top Hat Adaptor installs beneath the register plate, facilitating the sliding movement of the connecting flue, allowing seamless integration or disconnection of the stove. Positioned above the plate, it serves as the transition point to MI-FLEX, featuring a built-in square cover plate to neatly conceal the register plate hole.
Maintenance:
A properly designed chimney system must enable easy access for sweeping and maintenance, which should be conducted by competent personnel. For solid fuel applications, refer to HETAS registered sweeps for appropriate maintenance guidance. Avoid using chemical cleaners or mild steel tools on stainless steel chimneys. Regular cleaning and inspection should be carried out at least annually, along with biannual sweeping for chimneys serving solid fuel appliances, preventing potential blockages or deposits.
